is this embossed? how do you do it?

Yes Mary - they're embossed. I create the embossing plate with polymer clay in the shape and depth I want and then I run it on very heavy copperplate paper. I like working with owls because they're a cute little subject! I need to find a substitute though - I'm running out of ideas!
