Happening this Weekend!

If you're looking for something fun to do this weekend and get a little holiday shopping done in the process I suggest you head to Rockland by way of Duxbury.

For the art lovers on your list be sure to stop by the Open Studio of Mary Sheehan Winn. Her studio is located in the Sandpaper Factory at 83 East Water Street in Rockland. It'll be well worth the climb to the 4th floor. She's been working on some brand new large format paintings that are just incredible. Mary's offering some knock out discounts on her work during this 2 day period. Get there early for the best selection! Open from 12-5 both Saturday & Sunday.

Don't forget  - the Duxbury Art Association's 39th Annual Craft Showcase takes place at Duxbury High School located at 130 St. George Street. For a $5 admission fee (which benefits the Duxbury Art Association - a nonprofit organization) you will experience the work of 70 talented artists and crafters. Open Saturday from 10-5 and Sunday from 11-4. Three of the HomeGrown artists will be there. Liza Abelson of Dasken Designs will be there with her beautiful stained glass creations. Linda Mackey will be exhibiting and selling her gorgeous hand dyed silk and felted scarves. Lisa Mackin (me) will be there with Boston Baked Beads, specializing in polymer clay artisan jewelry. There's something for everyone.

Don't fret - If you miss these opportunities be sure to stop by our Open House at HomeGrown Arts and Crafts on the 27th of November from 5-8pm. You'll see the work of these 4 artists as well as the work of Margaret Curran, Marianne Buckley Curran, Sally Dean, Hilary Gately, Betsey Borden, Susan Hagstrom, Markie Mello and Laurie Tonelli. We'll be open from 1-4 as well as Duxbury celebrates Holly days. Lots of fun events around town.
