Introducing...

Today I'm thrilled to announce our next artisan, glass artist Liza Abelson and her business Dasken Designs. Liza's whimsical creations are vibrant and fresh.

Like most artists Liza has experimented with many mediums throughout her career. She's been an artist for over 20 years focusing on stained glass for the past six. In her studio in Abington she busies herself with her glass work and paintings. Liza's constantly working providing art to one of the many shops and galleries she's in. There's not too many craft showcases in New England where you won't find her as well – she's a gal on the move!

I use the copper-foil technique, often referred to as the Tiffany technique (think Tiffany lamp), and this involves applying a layer of copperfoil to each piece of glass and then burnishing the copper to the glass.  Then I solder (melt metal) the pieces of copper-foiled glass together using 100% lead-free solder which is composed of copper, tin and silver.  ~Liza
